Weather Glass with Leather Strap

This 17th century Weather Glass Barometer is a unique work of art which continues to fascinate people. Crafted with a hand-blown glass chamber and spout, it forecasts the weather with rises and drops in water levels. High pressure causes the water level in the spout to drop, predicting fair weather to prevail. Low barometric pressure allows the water level in the water spout to rise, indicating stormy weather ahead. The glass vessel hangs from a Leather Strap. Fill it with colored water to approximately one inch above where the spout joins the glass body and consult it each day for impending weather changes up to approximately 12 hours ahead.
